What is the cost to register on this site?
Nothing. There are no registration fees for buyers or sellers.
How do I find what I'm looking for?
You have several options:
- In addition to a Keyword Search at the top of the home page, you can search specific criteria using our price slider and drop down options.
- Click on any category and you can browse all listings within that category. You can also sort and filter the category results many different ways to find what you're looking for.
How much does it cost for sellers to place listings?
Multi-Ad plans cost as little as $6.60 per listing, per month, if you have multiple units to sell. (Hauling companies also qualify for Multi-Ad plans!) Otherwise, a single listing is $40 per month, or $75 for 3 months. If you have several – or many – pieces of equipment to sell, you should consider one of our Multi-Ad plans. There are no long term commitments, and with each listing you get virtually unlimited copy, up to 20 photos and free Video, too. Detailed cost specifics are explained here.
Will you help me with my ad?
Absolutely! While this is an easy-to-use, do-it-yourself website, we're always glad to help. We're probably one of the few "full service" advertising sites on the web. We can start your account, set up your ad, upload the pictures and video, and send an invoice or take your payment over the phone. Just give us a call or send us an email, and we'll do the rest.
If you are on a Multi-Ad plan, we will gladly manage your account on a monthly basis, so your listings are always current. You won't have to do a thing. Contact us, and we'll explain how that works.
I'm trying to place an ad, but my pictures won't upload. Why not?
This usually happens because your picture files are too large in file size. While the site automatically resamples images down in size, some are just too large for the site to handle. If you need to reduce the file size of your photos, click here for a free online photo optimizer. We recommend you size the image width to 1,280 pixels. We also suggest that if you use a phone to take photos of your truck, shoot them holding your phone horizontally. Especially for your first, (lead) image.
Is this site secure?
Yes. Your transactions are protected by the latest encryption technology. All payments to Trash Trucks Online go through PayPal and Stripe. Rest assured, we do not store any credit card info on our website.
Can I save items to revisit later?
Yes. You can maintain your own Watchlist within your account. Each listing on our site has a star. And when clicked, that listing will be added to your Watchlist. You will need to register on our site (for free) in order to create a Watchlist.
What if I can't find what I'm looking for?
You can set up Saved Search Filters with your free account. Do a search on our homepage with your requirements. Then on the next page, under Filter Inventory, there's a checkbox to SAVE THESE FILTERS. Give your search a name and click Apply. The saved search will be stored in your account and you can run that search any time with the click of a button. Our site will screen all new listings as they are placed, and if an item is listed that meets your Saved Search Filter criteria, we will automatically send you an email notification.
How do buyers and sellers communicate with each other?
Sellers are required to list their phone number with their listings. That's the easiest way. Many also provide their email addresses within the listing. There is also a "Message Seller" link on every listing page that allows you to send a message directly through the website. Each email is screened by a human to ensure validity. The seller will then be notified by email with your questions. The seller can either reply to your message by direct email, or log in to their account and reply through our onsite messaging system.
